Tutoring Center

The UNI-CUE Tutoring Center provides a supportive study-table environment where students can strengthen their academic skills and build confidence as learners. Our tutors are undergraduate students from UNI who work with students in reading, English, composition, social studies, mathematics, and other academic areas as needed. Rather than providing subject-specific tutoring assignments, we focus on a well-rounded educational approach that helps students develop effective learning strategies, critical thinking skills, organization, and academic independence. Some of our tutors are education majors with content-area specialties who can provide additional support in higher-level subject areas when appropriate.

Students are not assigned to a specific tutor. Instead, they work collaboratively with our tutoring team in a flexible learning environment that encourages engagement, skill development, and academic growth. 

The UNI-CUE Tutoring Center is designed to support long-term academic growth rather than simply providing homework help. Students may bring homework and classroom assignments to work on during tutoring sessions, but tutors can also focus on specific skills identified by the student, parent/guardian, or classroom teacher. Teachers are welcome to share curriculum materials, academic goals, or areas of focus to help guide instruction. To support students at all grade levels, the tutoring center provides tutors with access to a wide variety of educational materials, subject resources, and online learning tools that can be used to reinforce skills and encourage academic success.
