Someone from the EOC staff will contact you as soon as we receive your application. If you are having difficulties, please send us an email or call us at 319-273-4774, and we will find an alternate method to get you the paperwork for entry in our program.

Requirements

An individual is eligible to participate in the Educational Opportunity Center program if the individual meets all of the following requirements:

  • Is a citizen or national of the United States; or
  • Is a permanent resident of the United States; or
  • Is in the United States for other than a temporary purpose and provides evidence from the Immigration and Naturalization Service of his or her intent to become a permanent resident; or
  • Is a permanent resident of Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands or the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (Palau); or
  • Is a resident of the Freely Associated States—the Federated States of Micronesia or the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
  • Is at least 19 years of age; or
  • Is less than 19 years of age, and the individual cannot be appropriately served by a Talent Search project
  • Expresses a desire to enroll, or is enrolled, in a program of postsecondary education, and requests information or assistance in applying for admission to, or financial aid for, such a program
     
  • Lives in one of the following counties:
    • Black Hawk
    • Bremer
    • Buchanan
    • Butler
    • Chickasaw
    • Floyd
    • Tama
